Governor Gutshot’s Grotesque Legacy: Minnesota Trashed

By: Phoenix Woman Saturday November 28, 2009 6:38 pm

Minnesotans got another reminder of the damage wrought by Governor Gutshot (aka Tim Pawlenty, the man who would be president) in last Friday's paper: The state's official economist, Tom Stinson, has just said that the decades-long tax cut binge, heartily indulged in by T-Paw, has caused serious structural problems to Minnesota -- and that the only reason things aren't even worse is because of the Federal stimulus money Obama sent our way.

By: SJGulitti Saturday November 28, 2009 5:49 pm

It is a cardinal rule in American political discourse that one refrain from associating an opponent or an opposing position with Adolph Hitler or the Nazis. That said; it makes for a rather insightful discussion when we stop to analyze several of Rush Limbaugh’s recent insinuations that the present administration of Barack Obama resembles the regime of Adolph Hitler.

5 “Music-to-Progressive-Ears” Points by Rep. Alan Grayson on RFK, Jr.’s “Ring of Fire” AA Program

By: libbyliberal Saturday November 28, 2009 3:16 pm

I just caught a radio interview of Florida Congressman Alan Grayson on Robert Kennedy, Jr.’s "Ring of Fire" Air America program this afternoon. I was distracted, working on something that required focus, but the things I caught Grayson saying were so penetrating I kept grabbing a pen and jotting them down. I would like to hear the show again, maybe find the podcast, with my full focus, but before his points drift out of my mind or I lose my scribblings or can no longer decipher them, let me share. Keep in mind, this is me paraphrasing his points. So these are not quotes. These are my interpretations!

Senate Filibuster Rules: Letting 0.58% of the US population control Senate health care votes

By: readerOfTeaLeaves Saturday November 28, 2009 12:24 pm

Did you realize that Sen. Ben Nelson of Nebraska represents only 0.58% of all US citizens? Did you realize that Blanche Lincoln of Arkansas represents only .93% of tall US citizens? Would you call it Tyranny of the Itsy-Bitsy-Teenie-Weenie-Minority if you realized that health care reform is being held up by people representing about 4% of all US citizens?
