Excellent stuff here, instead of turning food into fuel they’re turning waste into fuel
They also recognize the economic/energy footprint associated with transporting said waste to energy reclamation and propose these plants be developed locally
Color me optimistic but as far as I am concerned I think this is BRILLIANT!
This is gonna solve some the ecological problems as much as energy problems, imagine taking your landfill and trading it for fuel for your car or home!
have a look;

You know, a while back I suggested that if we had a “land on the moon” project we could be energy dependant in 10 years, I have not been disuaded from that belief and technology like this makes me more certain then ever.
They never mentioned it but I wonder if this is also efficient if they toss coal in there and if there’ll be a smaller ecoligical impact then burning coal directly
anyway, good stuff in that tube, make certain you have a look see
Recommended. Thanks, perris. So, why is this process not more known about or real push by gov to move production into high gear? yeah…probably blocked by greedy Big Oil, that must have Big War Weaponry to get and maintain control of countries with oil resources, Big Business dependent on first two, and Big Banksters financing all of them. May they all implode into their own footsteps – that’s their MO.
We could be off of foreign oil in two years, and off burning coal in about five.
If the Country was charged with doing these things, and the only people who can do that is our Government.
Waste is as good as anything. and could be a great part of it.
The people, business, and our markets, are so rapped up in the way we have been doing things, and the profits it makes they don’t want to change.
So we continue being dependent, sending the wealth of our Nation to others, and ruining the planet and our future, all because we like the way it is.
Mark my words, in the probably near future something will interupt the oil supply, and all hell will break loose. We will have nobody to blame but ourselves for not fixing the problem before it happens.

This was an in-depth discussion about Bio-Fuels recently.
I checked it out. Very interesting and confirms the point that we can do it with ethanol, but the Government is holding it back.
You notice HE said it is illegal to blend more than ten percent ethanol, while flex fuel vehicles can run on an eighty five percent blend.
Our Government, is our problem, in doing everything that is right for this Country. They not only are bought monitarily by the lobbies of big industies, but bought the lies the are feeding them.
Our future depends on getting the ignorant old dogs out of our Congress, and replacing them with intelligent young people who want to do what’s right for the Country.
But you only got that because it was military. It was “lets bomb the commies and socialists from outer space“. Figure out how a green energy source is good for murdering millions of people and they’ll get right on it.
These are the people who paid soldiers to stare at goats remember.
They only get away with these things because we support all of it.
I do support it! Peason Fuels can only do so much, but even the State of California gets in the way!
The Federal Government is the sole reason for not having mass expansion. I would LIKE to think the Oil Companies have little to do with it. But I often wondered where the talk about Bio Fuels went in the mass media. Its all over Cable Channels that cover Renewable Technologies, specifically Discovery Green and Discovery Science.
But of course the Mass Media’s attention span is not much longer than the general public’s and of course the far left Liberals are in love with battery power and sweep aside most of the criticism (Pirus batteries come from Korea).
And as The Prof. stated your not going to run the Aircraft Industry on Solar Power either. Nevermind that until it becomes cheaper to build hybrid and plug-in electric cars and behave more like a “normal” car we’re going to be using the internal combustion engine for YEARS to come.
We might as well find a renewable and affordable fuel to power our country.
A co-worker saw the same story I did about a some US oil companies looking to drill inside the mainland. I told them it largely won’t happen because the environmental push back would prevent most types of drilling (not in backyard kinda thing). Its far cheaper for them to get Oil from the Tar Sands or the Middle East and less political, environmental and social unpopular.
I’m a performance nut, most of us have looked at bio-fuels as way to save our hobby.
We need sweeping Energy Policy
thanks perris
thanx everyone for contributing to this thread
hey elliot, I have a typo up top and can’t get back in, can you fix this for me?
should read “food into fuel” not “food into food”
if you can I appreciate it
I want one! I my back yard! How about that? What do you think of that djfourmoney? I’m far left Liberal!
Is it really necessary to bash Liberals for this hold up? Seriously.
Perris brings an excellent video to the table and we can ask the question. What are the barriers to success? And we could look at ALL the barriers to success and wonder, “How many are REAL barriers and how many are imagined boogyman barriers?”
I listen to right wing radio more that a sane human should, but I listen to them with the goal of finding insane and violent comments that I can use to get their advertisers to leave. When the advertisers leave they lose power and sometimes they even change what they say.
So I know the kind of crap that they pull out of their ass to explain how it is really those environmentalists that are stopping us from energy independence! We just need to be able to lease more land! Drill baby drill! If only it wasn’t for those environmental wackos we could drill off the cost of California more! BULLSH*T. But it is said so that “both sides can be blamed.” And I’m sick of it.
No it’s not. The costs are just hidden better. And you know another factor that is never talked about? The GD PR spin that beats down these other costs as if they are nothing. What is the ration of dead humans to barrel of oil these days? Is that in the calculation? Cause it should be.
It is convenient to blame environmentalists for the problems because it is an excellent target for the the oil companies. They can bitch and moan about their inability to drill baby drill and then suddenly they got it! Where are those oil wells? We gave them everything they wanted, we said you can drill off the coast. Why aren’t they? Because they didn’t REALLY want those, because the real cost of oil is still subsidized by the taxpayers and the dead humans in the Middle East.
Sorry if it looks like I’m launching off on you, I’ve just reached the point where I hate hearing people spout platitudes that have been created by right wing think tanks repeated by talk radio hosts and injected into the mainstream media. I know how this is done. I’ve seen people do it, I know the people who do it. It’s just so much bullsh*t.
Remember that movie and Inconvenient Truth? Gore talks about how even though the vast majority of the scientific community agrees that the climate change has a human component the public doesn’t buy it? Why? Because a handful of PR people and think tanks were paid to muddy the water and throw doubt into the equation. It’s really easy to do and relatively cheap. Interestingly scientists are actually fairly naive when it comes to interacting with the media, they don’t understand what they are up against and their honesty and scientific integrity is used against them.
What do I mean? Let me give you an example from my life, I’m working with a brilliant Ph.D scientist. I’m prepping him to tell his story to the media. I run some loaded questions by him that I know are planted by the competition. He falls right into their trap. One of the classic traps is, “Can you say with 100 percent certainty…” No scientist EVERY wants to be in that position. So they fudge. and that fudging makes it look like he isn’t certain. And then the competition has won, they have induced doubt and confusion into the story USING the values of the scientist.
This is a war fought in the media and by and large our side is losing.
Did you know that the think tanks like AEI have 6 people on staff whose only job it is to place their hack scientists in newspapers, radio and TV? The hacks are trained to go around and cast doubt, throw sand in gears, delay innovation, and sow confusion.
My friends at the Center for Media and Democracy have written about these people for years. Their books “Trust us We’re Experts, Toxic Sludge is Good for you, Mad Cow USA and Weapons of Mass Distraction” should be required reading for journalists and the public.
I”m going to go watch Glee because writing this post has depressed me.
I really don’t like attacking others here, and I’m sure you are a fine person djfourmoney, but I AM the Far Left Liberal and I AM NOT the problem for your hobby. You have been sucked into a mindset designed to blame me in the top tier of your road blockers.
