Sarah Palin is now saying that
the race for New York’s 23rd District is not over, just postponed until 2010.
(CNN Political Ticker: ”Palin: NY-23 race ‘just postponed until 2010′”)

Wouldn’t that be exactly the kind of thing that cult leaders have been telling their brainwashed followers again and again for centuries when their predications inevitably turn out to be wrong?
Yes, it most certainly is.
Check out “When Prophecy Fails” by Leon Festinger, Henry W. Riecken, and Stanley Schachter for a great study on the subject (Amazon link to book newly out in paperback here).
It’s hard to tell at this point if she’s counting on how well she’s conditioned her delusional followers, or if she’s in fact deluded herself in order to avoid facing her many political failures these past several months.
She’s not even turning out to be a particularly successful cult leader, is she?
I’m actually starting to feel sorry for this failed politician, who’s losing her battle to use celebrity to stay relevant.

No.
This is a cult leader:

No! She is a fault feeder.
Her faults are that She has a high opinion of Hereself, and delusions of grandure. She got a taste of the good life fed Her by the Campaign, and want’s to regain that at all cost.
She go that on McCains coat tails. Now She is on Her own and has little to offer anyone or anything.
Palin aspires to be a cult leader but, she will settle for a dictatorship as long as she can hire someone to do the work for her. One of the aspects of her behavior which solidified my opinion of her was her use of her newborn as a prop. She hid behind her child like so many wretched women who manage to use anything and everything as a tool for manipulation. Palin is the poster girl. She the gal who cannot pull herself away from the mirror, too much in love with herself to love anyone else in return but actively seeks revenge if you do not worship at the alter of Sarah.
Very funny you should ask that question.

Sarah Palin’s church has a problem with Python Spirits neither my Sunday school education, readings of the Bible or my old Dungeons and Dragon’s have given me any idea what Python Spirits are. But I’m guessing its not a Christen Cult well I’m sure they claim to be Christen like the Moonies claim to be Christen.
Cult leaders usually have more intelligence than I see in her, but having seen several cults up close, she does resemble a cultist, who feels confident at last because a whole group is sucking in the same fantasy she is, and she can just use the talking points and get reassurance.
