Just back from voting! Good turn-out, first time that i have seen them have to use 2 lines voters (of course we only have 2 voting machines in my little town.)
this is an excellant tool box, thanx for this, now to go rambo protection mode
DIGG this!!!
-smiles- Thank you
Just sent it to a friend
great job Eliott.
Well, I just got back from voting, took about 45 minutes. There were about 80-90 people ahead of me, I think. I was #374 out of 2000.
When I came out, the line seemed about the same.
People were pleasant and friendly — as usual. In 2004, the atmosphere was more festive, but I was there later in the day. The man in front of me today told a friend nothing was going to change, so I guess he’s supporting McCain.
Oh. There will be a change.
Hi Ellie. My voting experience was similar to yours. Nice and easy. Plenty of poll workers helping people. Even in line, they asked if anyone wanted to practice, taking around the little push pin machine. Which was so cute.
When I pulled out my ballot, I went back to book and made sure that the number for my candidate was the number on my ticket that was punched. Ha. I did.
Thanks for your diary.
Or he’s a Ralph “no difference” Nader supporter.
bom dia pups
Was out doing some visibility this morning (in the rain). I’m now cold, wet (semi wet) but it killed some hours and my nerves aren’t as on edge ae earlier.
How is everyone this morning?
free coffee?!
great list elliot – thanks.
Palin the liar on MSNBC.
Shorter Sarah — “I didn’t realize how cold it is here compared to the rest of the US. Snow is everywhere already. I hope we win so I can get the hell out of here, warm up and get me some more of those fancy duds.”
Wobbs!
But, it never rains in California! (there’s a song about that I’ll tell ya later.)
I had to rummage in my closet to find tennis shoes, coat and hat to go stand in line this am. But, I did!
And, it felt good.
Palin is the future of the Republic Party?
Have the Republics scheduled the meeting of their remaining House members to decide which one will be introducing Article of Impeachment on January 21, 2009?
LOL. Someone forgot to tell California that it doesn’t rain here becuase it was coming down hard from early a.m. up to about 6:30ish. I’m done. I am all phone banked out.
hiya, wobbs.
I’m keeping an eye out my window at the sheer
massive, enthusiastic, lines around the block, pushing and shoving, fired-up, almost unmanageable delugepathetic trickle of voters showing up this morning. Not a single black face (early voting started October 6). Just a few straggling white people walking in with all the enthusiasm one normally sees at a funeral.
I voted this morning in my small, Indiana town. I’ve NEVER had to wait before for more than a few minutes.
This morning I was in line for almost 90 minutes. I don’t know if high turnout is bad or good because its usually a VERY Republican district, but this is clearly not your usual election.
Do you really think Republicans will wait until after the inauguration to start trying to impeach?
ola jayt.
awww hope the pace and mood pick up later. I saw lines at a few polling stations on my way back home and am hoping that means good news for No on 8
w00t!

I stood in line with a wonderfully diverse crowd this morning. Old, young, kids with their parents and a rainbow of happy, excited faces. Why I enjoy living in the community I do.
This could be the Bush Legacy
I certainly hope it is.
hey pal…heres a ot cup of ginger tea

or maybe he noticed how much changed in congress after the 2006 elections? if there’s going to be a change, my guess is that it’s up to us to make it happen.
LOL 708!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Now those are some gorgeous pics *g*
awww hope the pace and mood pick up later.
I don’t.
The people who I want to see vote have already done so.
ooooh thanks. Call me crazy but later on, I’m going out to do more visability (late this afternoon). We have to get folks to vote no on 8 and yes on 2
LMAO

hahahahahahahhaha
heh, that was longest i ever waited down there. the vote is getting turned out here.
you rock – take care of yourself too though.
for sure
bastard lied…it rained and rained and rained here but the sky has lceared up and that means beautiful views for a few days
Just back from MD suburb of DC polling place. Had to wait in line for one hour. The longest I had ever had to wait before at that polling station was 10 minutes. The line had stayed as long as it was when I got there when I left. Can’t imagine what it’s going to be like tonight.
How long did you have to wait?
Jane’s up with her nephew Russell’s note
I know!
I was lucky to ger time ot go this morning.
I haven’t slept in a few nights either but it’s just election jitters. I baked up a storm last night and called into Southern Ohio (now that was an experience). There are so many damn Yes on H8 signs everywhere that my neighbor down the stree, her firend and I decided to do some visibility for No on 8 and of course Obama
One of the poll workers told me that the line has been the same length all day. It was that long when they opened at 7 a.m. Absolutely without precedent in this area.
only about 45 minutes. they kept sending m-z ahead of me.
cool. I drove by my polling station and there was a line there which is strange given most the folks in my immeidate area are of the absentee ballot demographic
Voting this morning! No Line! Btw, this is hilarious: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1exiyBYnJ00
I was in the wrong line too!
this really is an historic day!
We can only hope so.
She’ll set them back with independents 20 years.
I think it’s really simple to build a strong Democratic majority going forward for years to come.
First, don’t do anything stupid.
Next, commit to a massive infrastructure build out.
And then, totally revamp the voting process when it comes to federal elections.
Create non-partisan boards to oversee it.
Don’t worry about it; Republicans can’t win majorities if elections are fair. Their game plan is to suppress the vote, make it close, and then steal it.
Their natural constituency is about 20-30% of voters, they use guns and gays to scare up the rest.
I don’t understand why anyone WOULDN’T vote. I mean, I’m under the voting age, but I’m dying to. It’s the citizens’ say in the country’s government. Everyone whines about it current administration but they refuse to vote in order to change it. Thank you so much for posting this article
