I’ll never forget my “shock and awe” on December 9, 1992 when Lame-Duck disgraced dis-elected President George Bush Sr. sent troops to Somalia on a supposed “humanitarian mission”.
“Bush/humanitarian mission” sounded like an oxymoron to me. A decades-long career of installing, backing, arming and aiding the worst human-rights-violating, ruthless, rightist, military dictatorships on Earth, including Saddam Hussein, and a sudden “humanitarian mission” after getting his ass kicked out of the White House? I didn’t buy it for a minute. But everybody else did.

Bush the 1st had, just one month before, been repudiated, humiliated and embarrassed by the American people and Bill Clinton, and I thought to myself that evil SOB is taking revenge on America and he’s going to get a bunch of Americans killed in Somalia and hang the unsuspecting rookie Clinton with a diplomatic/military nightmare before he even takes office. And he did, and they died and it’s on Clinton’s record. Just like Bush Sr. planned. Those Bushes are hateful, vindictive, vengeful people….evil evil people.

Somalia marked the beginning of the “vast right-wing conspiracy”.
