to family and friends yesterday, one of them, a Dem, who helped phone-bank in the Primary and the General, answered right away:

Haya D… I have been wondering about Joe L’s. fate.. My first reaction is to kick him down… But then, in the spirit of unity, maybe he can be a transformation person to help unite the parties?
I am weary of the divisiveness… Lets work together to get a real energy policy going and lubricate the economy and get some jobs…
Did we really loose 1 million jobs… crikey…
Will how congress treats him be an example of how the republicans will treat the dems?
I am ready to MOVE ON! xo

This is just a partial list off of the top of my head. He’s a Weasel of the highest order.
Yes, he did and said everything he could to get a republican in the White House…and praised Sarah Palin’s expertise in foreign affairs and policy….over and over and over…that should be enough doncha think??????

But the thing I dislike the most about him though is how he got the nickname ‘Short Ride’ which comes from when he backed a bill that allows a hospital to refuse a rape victim the choice of the , crap what’s the name of it, the medication that will keep a fertilized egg from attaching to the uterus. He said basically,’it’s a short ride down the street to another hospital if they so choose.’ Imagine that. But funny thing is, the anti-choicers have made it not available in ANY hospital in many cities. All cuz of joe. You’ve been raped and instead of being treated and going home after the long ordeal you go through after being raped, you have to go down the street and go through it all again or risk being pregnant by your rapist. And that’s if it’s even available. Disgusting. Absolutely appalling.
If he stays in the Caucus, at best, give him a seat on a committee where he already votes Dem, housing or something, not on one of the most powerful Committees in the Senate. Why should he get one of the most plum jobs in our party? For what? His vote? Huh? Bribery? We don’t need his vote. Give the Committee Chair to someone who deserves it. People keep forgetting he was holding up stuff in Committee that went right along with what McConnell wanted, short memories. Held up in committee. Any Oversight of the house that Bush built? No. Sat on his hands while Henry Waxman pulled the nails out of the boards to the front door.

It isn’t only his mud-slinging during the election, it’s how he operates that I dislike. Media is now only focusing on the McCain campaign aspect, as if that were all it is about, not on what he stands for and how he has voted. What he has done and whom for. He is a Chicken Hawk and votes with the Chicken Hawks and has press conferences with the Chicken Hawks. And he wants Palestine wiped off of the map.

He contributed mucho money to Dems to stay in good graces. One big chunk of 40,000 the last time he was in bad graces. Right when he backed McCain.

If I were Harry, I would have called a meeting and said, Joe’s office has moved, here’s his new number–next subject?and left it at that. I said earlier to Mom that it will be interesting to see who shows up in public with him first.

Let him make his two minute speeches on the floor of the Senate, but no Committees, no Caucus meetings, no breakfast meetings. Don’t you remember he refused to go to the meetings unless he got his way last year on a bill? Refused to caucus on any other bill until he got the changes he wanted? I do. Why did ONE SENATOR control bills that were presented to the floor?????? Full drama queen temper tantrum, it was all over the news–is he leaving the caucus-is he not leaving the caucus, he dragged it out for three weeks. Then after that, demanded other things in order to guarantee he was with the Dem Caucus, among them that everyone had to sit Dem Repub Dem Repub. Kinda hard to side-discuss points with your Caucus during a meeting if there is a Republican sitting inbetween you and reading the notes you are taking during the meeting. You forget all of that? He’s a manipulative bastard, and Lamont should be serving as Senator and not him.

Don’t mistake his ‘Droopy Dog’ expression as someone who is a cream puff, he hasn’t been around this long because he’s a softie.Neither party wants him. Who’s he gonna help unify? He’s not a unifier kind of guy. He’s a ‘get my way’ kinda guy. Don’t you remember he said he would bow out if beaten in his primary? And then ran as an Independent when he lost? Made all kinds of promises to get people to back him and then failed to deliver on every single one of them…..I remember.

these are areas in which he cannot help us. let’s work with those who can. plenty of republicans who genuinely want to see all of those things happen.

First of all, that IS how the republicans treated the Dems, and the Dems have consistently walked the higher ground. I don’t think stripping him of his Committee spots is being cruel, I think it’s deserving of how he has chosen to place himself within/without the party. His choice, nobody made him say what he said and do what he did. Nobody made him vote how he votes.

Congressional Republicans eat their own when they go against them, I’m just saying a little shunning is in order. Don’t reward the man. Committee Members serve as an honor, work hard to get the Committee spots, I completely disagree with giving him any.

Yep, that’s what I’m saying, if you don’t play honest and work to move our country forward up and out of this ditch, you don’t play. We need our ‘A’ Game players in this now. Isn’t that supposed to be the new way? Put in place the best this country has to offer. What we all have been wanting for years? Isn’t that why so many Republicans were voted out? Mitch McConnell doesn’t even want him, and Graham and Lieberman did more than anyone to try to get McCain elected……what’s that say? McConnell should be grateful, is he? Uhhhh, no.Like I said, I’m waiting to see when they come back to Washington, who is seen with him, then we’ll know what’s going on. Until then, I’m just ‘waiting on the videotape’.

‘The right’ is beating the drum about ‘poor Joe’ ‘I thought the Dems were all about unity and working together’..Sean Hannity and Rush are leading the charge. It’s like a bully beating the crap outta you and then when you do something about it they cry ‘foul’ ‘you hit me!’. You don’t leave a fox in the henhouse and expect to have a nice chicken dinner tomorrow.

How are we supposed to move forward efficiently with Hojo keeping the bus in park with his distractions, his personal agenda, just because he wants what he wants. One man sticking up the works, yeah, he’s a dedicated servant to the country. /s

His name is right next to Boehner and McConnell in the ‘Who to call in an emergency’ Repub phone book.

Pariah, let him serve out his term without the spotlight he craves. Worst thing you could do to him, is nothing. Give him nothing, no love, no hate, apathy.

Any committee he would be on would function much better without him, think about it. How many potholes does he put in the road just sitting there? What kind of atmosphere would be in the room? You think he’s the man that can bring unity? Forward our agenda? He’s one that isn’t about unity and isn’t about to go along and let that happen when it comes to Foreign Policy and Domestic Issues that concern his banking interests and other corporations located in the state of Connecticut. ‘Ain’t gonna happen’ with him around.

And I forgot to mention that he was Obama’s mentor in the senate, praised him to high heaven, until he got in the way of what he wanted to see happen.

There are two things I’m waiting to see–
1) Who shows up in public with Lie-berman
2) Who is on Bush’s pardon list.

Use him in a less sensitive area on something else, one which is reflected in his votes..maybe housing..No, on second thought, make him sit in Chambers with nothing to do except speak for his occasional two minutes. No committees, no breakfast meetings.No insider Caucus information.The word Pariah comes to mind.

One’s expertise and experience are irrelevant and carry no weight when not backed by any smidgeon of honorable character. Some say he was being honorable backing mccain, that would be true if he would have revealed it before his last Senate race.Give him what people like him most fear —irrelevance.
No Spotlight. No forum. No special influence that a committee would allow.

So, the purpose of this rant? To remind people that the McCain campaign is the least of reasons to deny Joe Lieberman a Committee position, let alone a Chairmanship.

Don’t need to kick him, just tell him to ‘SIT’. After all, he just ate the couch, right in front of company. BAD DOG.
