Hey Marijuana is illegal because of one man who pushed to get it on the Class 1 list. It is the right wing that keeps this a regulated Class 1 drug. If the people of the US were able to vote to legalize it it would pass with flying colors. Marijuana has been used by mankind for thousands of years for medicinal uses! It would seem that it just might be a gift from God for what ails mankind. Also the big Pharma doesn’t want it legalize because they won’t make any money on it as it grows in almost 90% of the world with little or no cultivation.

I think we should be using the financial crisis and the ‘wartime’ bs to in effect say: Hey, we’re ‘at war’, our economy is tanking, we have tons of non-violent pot offenders in prison who could be out here contributing (both in work and in taxes), untold thousands have found it therapeutic where other pharmaceuticals have failed, etc… so out of economic necessity, we’re going to legalize and tax pot and we’re going to encourage the growth and use of hemp to immediately put billions $$ into the economy.

Unfortunately, though, it doesn’t do much good for emphysema! You know all those resins? Guess where there go if they’re not in your pipe! Bummer.

Tax it where else will get the money we need for national healthcare.

Massachusetts has decriminalized possession of small amounts. I think it is the first step toward stopping the madness.

Our kids have been used as sport for local police looking for something to do. They have used all their new Homeland Security devices to chase seventeen year olds around town and into criminal court.

Families have been terrorized by the unnecessary force used on kids as well as the threats to take away school loans if the kid is found guilty. The power that police have abused against hardworking citizens is staggering.

I was kind of hoping this would be a good time to take a look at our ridiculous drug laws but alas the new administration doesn’t seem likely to do that

and now I learn
the state of California is suspending the drivers license of people for merely having a medical marajuana card. What is wrong with these people?

That’s infuriating.
This is the State taking away rights it’s not allowed to take away.
