Guerra was removed from 5 of the cases, but the charges brought by the grand jury remain. Presiding District Judge J.Manuel Banales has appointed Asst. Cameron County [Attorney?] Alfredo Padilla to handle the cases Guerra was removed from.

What a bizarre situation!
Apparantly, Guerra was a no-show for arraignments in these cases. Was found in Mexico, and when he is apprehended upon his return, will be placed in protective custody. Weirdest sh*t I’ve seen in the weirdest, sh*ttiest justice dept. (Texas) in the US.
I like the irony of a man named Padilla representing the state v. Cheney. if I read that right.
