The Right Livelihood Awards (RLA) festivities are beginning in Stockholm, Sweden. Joining Amy are RLA Laureates Krishnammal Jagannathan, Asha Hagi, and Monika Hauser.

Washington Journal had Washington Post Robert Downie on the other morning , I forget the other guest on with him. The big discussion was how newspapers are dwindling.
They did this to themselves. Callers kept bringing up New York Times hack Judy “I was fucking right” Miller blaming her and the Times for most of the false pre war intelligence reporting. Folks failed to challenge Bob Woodward’s and other journalist “groupthink” (even Woodward has said he was part of the “groupthink”) No one mentioned how Downie did not fire Woodwards ass after finding out that Woodward had been holding the information that he was the first reporter had been contacted about Valerie Plame Wilson’s identity and how Woodward went on National T.V. and elsewhere and directly undermined Patrick Fitzgerald’s investigation. Woodward is quite the hack himself
Woodwards wants money and attention and does not care who is harmed. The information he is given has to come from an agency connected with the Pentagon, or the Pentagon itself. When you consider Plame’s important work at uncovering the underground selling of nukes, you can figure out that he is given information and told when and how to release it. If you have followed Sibel Edmunds, you know who is involved.

The fact that newspapers would rather go bankrupt than tell the truth is proof, I think, that Operation Mockingbird still exists.
