This is an excellent measure. the more who are jailed, the lower the prez’s grade. Anything to turn around the horrifying rate of incarceration in this country.

and while i’m on a good rant, here, i also want to see the vote reinstated for everyone, felon or not. No citizen should ever lose the right to vote. especially if half of incarcerations are over class/political differences. While getting out the vote for Ned Lamont, my assigned neighborhood was almost totally disenfranchised. That’s not right.

There is something very incongruous about a Country which boasts that it is “The land of the Free” while also imprisoning a larger percentage of its population than any other Nation in the World. I find it very unsettling to know that I live in the most punitive Country in the World, imprisoning its Citizens for any sort of nonviolent crime, to the tune of 2 Million plus of us. Even the dreaded Chinese fall well short of that mark, with less than 75% of that prison population, despite their population being over four times as large!
