I just saw the most interesting thing on the Yahoo News site. Here’s a partial screen grab:

Here is the story from the headline. The boot photo did not come up when I clicked on the story. I also couldn’t find the boot photo when I quickly skimmed through the linked slideshow.
Who at Yahoo News is giving Bush the boot? I think the boot is aimed at George W. Bush, since the story is about George W. Bush headlining the dedication of the aircraft carrier named for his father, George H.W. Bush. It also, of course, is a reminder of the shoe-throwing incident in Baghdad. The story will be edited soon, since the headline is not grammatical, so I thought I would preserve it for all to see.
There is one other possibility than someone at Yahoo doing this. Was Yahoo hacked?
Update: The photo now has been changed, but the headline is still ungrammatical:

Update: the boot photo is now gone, but the ungrammatical headline remains. The new photo is the one in the story when you click the link.
The mystery remains: who did this?
The headline now is fixed, also, to read “Bush lands on aircraft carrier named after father”. Will it stay that way?
Probably a sub-editor using CMS software. Fun find and always enjoyable to see the big boys make a slip up. But otherwise probably not significant.
Re your screenshot. We take our screenshots with Fireshot. In fact it’s what we’ve standardised on. The basic version is fine and the basic version has editions for both firefox and internet explorer.
Here’s the link to the download page. FireShot for Firefox and Internet Explorer You have to scroll down a bit.
Hope this helps.

Another Size 10…perfect/
Fascinating.
Thanks, I’ve just been using the Windows “snip” tool. It seems to work fine for my uses, although I realize it probably would have been better to show more of the page…
Thanks for the link to Fireshot, Erdla. It looks like a fun tool that might go faster than my “alt-print-screen, copy, paste, open new bitmap, add, … wash, rinse, repeat, etc.

Nothing wrong with the snip tool – it does the job and it´s there already. :-)
You’re welcome Karen. It’s nice and fast and has basic editing tools built in. Mess around with its settings. One hint if you want the screenshots for the web or emailing. Select the .jpg format as the type of file you want it saved as. Its a lot smaller and thus quicker.
