John McCain is anti-choice.
In every venue, at every opportunity, on every vote, given every chance at nuance, John McCain makes very clear that he will nominate judges who will overturn Roe. He is opposed to choice.
John McCain is anti-choice.
John McCain believes the government should choose what a woman does with her body.
John McCain is anti-choice.
Please pass this along. Hit "reply" on those wackadoo right-wing emailings and distribute this video to the entire list. John McCain is anti-choice. Voters must know John McCain’s anti-choice position.

So important for everyone to know.
I do not think John McCain can win if people know the truth about this single issue.
We all need to do our best to ensure every voter knows:
John McCain is anti-choice.
Good point. IIRC, Obama ran at least one ad (in a limited area) exposing McSame’s stand after poll results showed most respondents thought he was pro-choice.
What I’ve found interesting about McPalin being thrust into the public’s eye is the real McPalin is on display. It’s ugly, it’s dangerous and it’s about time his maverick myth is exposed for what it is, evil.
It’s a leftover artifact of his media-enabled “maverick” reputation. Since the GOP is anti-choice, people seem to presume McCain must not be. But they are wrong.
McCain gets many free passes from the media — can you imagine if, in the first presidential debate, Barack Obama had stumbled pronouncing Ahmedinejad’s name, or gotten the name of Pakistan’s new leader wrong, or called pre-Pervez Pakistan a failed state? Any one of these would have been a media firestorm, but since McCain is a “foreign policy expert” these things are somehow forgiven.
Choice is very similar — the gasbags promulgate the notion that, since reasonable people are pro-choice and McCain is a reasonable person, he must also be pro-choice.
But McCain is not pro-choice. John McCain is anti-choice.
Someone needs to find footage of the burnings/bombings of womens health care clinics (on fire, w/ emergency vehicles, people crying) and the shooting of Dr. Gunn in Pennsacola, Florida. They then need to have a voice over.
Methinks there are a whole raft of occasions when John McCain voted on the side of domestic terrorists, not just this time.
Be careful about decrying the mote in another’s eye lest you show the beam in your own, McPalin.
Condolences to the Biden family–NBC Nightly News reporting that Jill Biden’s mother died this Sunday morning.
Thanks, Teddy. There also was this wonderful diary from Women Against McCain Palin a couple of days ago. They have two hard-hitting ads they have produced highlighting Sarah Palin’s extremist views on abortion. They provide a link where you can make a donation to run the ad of your choice in the swing market of your choice.
If I could ask Obama to nail two points in the next debate.. It would be this point (choice) and just how high he will raise taxes on all working class folks health insurance.
Apparently it was not unexpected but still, how unfortunate for their family. RIP
Oh my, I saw those ads elsewhere and wished I could find an embed to post them @ oxdown. They are must see and share YouTubes. I only wish they were running those ads in more states.
Of course he is anti-choice. Slaves don’t get choices and that is his plan for everyone except rich, white men.
Don’t forget Eric Rudoplh

TEDDY!

Can you DIGG it? Please?

Yes, I was a little disappointed the response wasn’t stronger when they posted the first time. Maybe someone behind the scenes can email them and ask them to run a second post. Those ads deserve all the support they can get.
Good idea.
OT – The Montana Standard (Butte, MT) ran an opinion piece from the Lieutenant Gov of MT denouncing the voter suppression effort here in MT. He is a Republican himself and he declared himself appalled. The very old who have moved into nursing homes are apparent targets, as well as young, newly registering people. Among those in the target are WWII veterans (newly in nursing homes) and those who are serving in Iraq and Afghanistan. The county registrar told me that the Obama people are bringing in almost 200 new registrations per week. NPR reports that Obama has pulled out of Montana, but tell that to the three staffers in our town.
We just came in from walking the neighborhood. There were a few venomous McCain supporters. You can almost hear FOX in the background. One undecided who seemed to think that someone who had been a constitutional law prof might be the evidence she was waiting for in order to swing her over to Obama
Have to ask, but is there really anyone out there who does not know McCain is anti-choice? I thought he had been quite open about that.
One issue voting is moronic- in re: a woman’s choice.
Even IF Roe v Wade were overturned by a NEW Supreme Court- it would still be a State’s Rights issue.
I am more interested in Barry’s pro-Infanticide VOTES – that he actually made in the Illinois Senate.
I LOVE the Left-Wing Liberal Platform:
Kill the babies
Promote Gay Marriage
Soon- No More Liberals.
Problem solved.
Don’t miss “Hannity’s America tonight at 9 p.m. on the Fox News Channel-
And learn all about Barry’s good buddies, pals, associates, mentors and TERRORISTS!
Think of it like a car chase or crash- You KNOW you don’t want to watch- but you can’t look away.
Take a Kool Aid beak and learn how to take bake this Country from the Marxist who HATES America.
McCain-Palin 2008
God Bless America-
Can’t Wait to read all your intelligent responses!
Oh yeah- and the BEST part about Hannity’s show tonight is that you won’t have to look at the weaselly funereal Alan Combs!
LOL
Salon says it was Biden’s mother-in-law.
Well, didn’t everyone here know that Obama was a corporate sellout that will make things worse if he gets elected?
My goodness, there’s been an invasion.
Yes, but I think they are selling Take & Bake pizzas. Or they can’t type.
Well, still not as bad as McCrazy. Count me among the “hold my nose” contingent. I still want to know who does not know McCain is anti-choice. He has been running on that with the fundies all along.
((((eCAHN)))
Let’s settle this with a spelling bee.
Proving once again that John Stuart Mill was waaay to generous.
Tell me an election you have voted in that has been different?
Hey, long time, no see. You been lurking? Wassup?
Thanks, j!
I always get my pizzas delivered. *g*
Those are brave women.
If only.
thanks teddy
Thank you! I love field reports. It sounds like you had a successful day.
heh
been a while. you okay?
Here’s what I don’t get. We know what kind of person it takes to even want to have this fucking job. We know exactly what it takes to get elected. Then, every four years we whine and bitch because we don’t like the people who run. Is this not the proverbial chasing of the tail?
Very few people at this site are one-issue voters. Swing voters and Low Information voters may be swayed by knowing the candidates’ positions on the issues. McCain’s anti-choice position has been concealed from public scrutiny (As one Maverick from a Team of Mavericks, McCain has been given the benefit of the doubt on this mavericky issue). If any swing voter can be swayed by one issue, so be it.
Typical low-information voter, i.e. majority of the electorate. They also haven’t gotten the news that he’s no maverick.
Good to see another MT Firedog. I think that makes a grand total of 3 of us. Right now Missoula has a 2:1 lead.
I just KNEW I could count on in-depth, thoughtful responses from this group!
Hey- Let’s TIVO “Hannity’s America” and go see “An American Carol.”
Should be a right-on HOOT!
Bill Maher, Al Franken and Michael Moore (and their ilk) should be deported.
Maybe Alec Baldwin is planning to “jump ship” after the election- they could gather up all those Frequent Flyer Miles- and get GONE!
hard to comment when shaking head so often.
kudos to you guys who can do it day in and out.
see my pics i finally posted from the bbq?
Yah, you have to be a complete egomaniac to want to be president. When we’re lucky, they also possess some skills and knowledge that are actually pertinent to doing the job.
I rest my case.
I think somewhat. On the other hand, I do think change is possible (I would have to do something stupid otherwise). Electoral action and voter involvement helps. Campaign finance reform that eliminates the influence of big money would help. Continually yelling at the incumbents and supporting more progressive challengers helps. In short, the kinds of things going on here help and can hopefully provide a foundation for meaningful change.
Many low-info voters think that McCain is pro-choice because he may have been pro-choice at various points in his illustrious career and b/c of the Maverick bullshit. IIRC, McCain was pro-choice when he ran against Bush in 2000.
That last thread wasn’t exactly encouraging was it?
Well, according to the Rolling Stone article chasing tail has been an integral part of John McCain’s life, married and unmarried.
went back in the shell for a while.
Jane’s right about stepping back every so often.
diggin y’all in my lurky way though.
Now that’s a Maverick!
ding
Nope, but that is also a reflection of the influence of big money. As long as the big money boys can dominate the funding cycle, we will never get anything except corporatists. That is part of why Edwards flopped (along with a corporate media blackout). On the other hand that appears to have been somewhat fortuitous.
The delta officer who was on the ill-fated Bin Ladhen mission is on 60 minutes.
Ditto.
Some days I hate where we find ourselves, but then I realize the only alternative is apathy. And I can’t do that.
So, we fight back.
Is the case closed, Raven?
Or do you think there be any way out of this swamp?
BTW, I was to see that you stayed around for that last fun-fest (I like how you’ve calibrated your BS meter, as you know).
;~D
The last thread was an antidote to the idea that not being as bad as McCain necessarily translates into something good.
Yep. You will never win if you quit fighting. If nothing else, the “Republican revolution” proves that change is possible. They have driven American politics further to the right than I would have thought possible and contrary to the opinions of most Americans. If they can do it, so can we. The key is to keep fighting and to be loud, obnoxious, and incessant.
Has anyone thought about who they might send Robert Greenwald’s excellent compilation to? Are there folks you know who need to know McCain’s actual anti-choice position?
I don’t mind if voters choose an anti-choice candidate because they are actually anti-choice. But it would be a shame to think someone voted for McCain thinking he was not anti-choice. That’s the kind of vote I hate to think gets cast — a vote against one’s interests, based on bad information.
You’ve got to go with the one who is least likely to blow up the planet and the one who will melt the ice caps the slowest. Lesser of two evils.
Well, the dude was pretty up front about his perspective. I don’t personally see the point of something like that here in the clutch but who am I. I don’t have the highest opinion of “radical writers” and his deal that he wasn’t telling people not to vote for Obama was pretty weak in my opinion. I wish I had know the other cat was in the 82nd before the end. My perspective on a lot of this is based on my experience in the military seeing African American, and other disadvantaged people, get screwed by the system. Personally the chance of an African American with even a chance to be elected president is amazing and I would like to know how the brothers I served with feel. I am not some dope who thinks the worlds problems will be solved but it is very meaningful to me.
As if things there aren’t bad enough, CNN.com reporting a 6.0 magnitude earthquake in central Afghanistan.
hey stranger!
Re McCain, he isn’t just anti-choice, he’s pro-stupid. Sarah Palin, I rest my case.
“John McCain believes the government should choose what a woman does with her body”
No he does not. John McCain believes John McCain should choose.
(Especially when it come to plastering on the makeup like some trollop).
Those are great. You took a lot! Very busy, BBQing & photoing. Thanks so much for both.
(((Betsy)))
been lurkin and surfing at a beach you know.
no way! get yourself a beach chair and join us dude!
really dig the beach house.
will stop by soon. promise.
Amen
Late back, Raven, but I agree with you, completely, in terms of what an Obama victory means and says on many levels.
I don’t know if you are still here, but would like to get in touch some time, if we get up Missoula way. Or contact me if you are coming to Butte.
Interesting times, these are. I’m a real newbie in MT – been here a little over a month and am teaching (one year visiting contract) at MTech.
