I’d sure like to see ALL of these groups blanketing southern Virginia [home of many current Navy personnel & retirees] with McCain’s record on veterans’ matters. Hell, they don’t even have to proselytize — just provide the facts & his voting record. It’s shameful that he gets to pull off this crap.

Three CNN/Gallup/USA Today polls taken during the 2004 presidential campaign revealed that 47 percent of America’s veterans aligned themselves politically as Republican, 42 percent as Democrat and 11 percent as Independent. Ideologically, they identified themselves as 43 percent conservative, 43 percent moderate and 16 percent liberal. More important, however, is the fact 74 percent of veterans voted in the 2004 presidential election compared to 63 percent of the general population, according the the U.S. Census Bureau.

It doesn’t matter which vet group says what. McInsane’s record speaks volumes all by itself.

IVAW — Iraq (and Afghanistan) Veterans Against the War

They’re not really impressed with either candidate wrt imperial policy that is the hallmark of the current Washington regime. They don’t think much of the Congress, either.

Both the IAVA and the VVA are the real deal…the problem with the Iraq war now is that it has gone on so long and there is no draft to create an immediate anti-war movement inside the military, those that are left on active duty have made their pact with the devil and they can’t afford to question the crimes they have enabled in the name of our country.

While I don’t trust his view (he’s extremely close-minded), I have to admit I know little of the two groups, and had never heard of the IAVA before the results reached the news. My question is: How are these two groups actually received? Where do they stand in comparison with, say, the VFW?

And maybe it’s time that we regular folks, the real American people stand up for ourselves and our candidate and jest say “ENOUGH”!!
