"In public, when it comes to the Iranian question, President Obama is all sweet reason and kissy-face. His recent video message to the Iranian people was just what the doctor ordered. However, this public performance is severely undercut by an ongoing covert program aimed at regime-change in Tehran – or, at least, at undermining the Iranian regime to such an extent that it must respond in some way.
This covert action program, reported by Seymour Hersh last year, was started by the Bush administration and funded to the tune of $400 million. The U.S. is, in effect, conducting a secret war against Tehran, a covert campaign aimed at recruiting Iran’s ethnic and religious minorities – who make up the majority of the population in certain regions, such as in the southeast borderlands near Pakistan – into a movement to topple the government in Tehran, or, at least, to create so much instability that U.S. intervention to "keep order" in the region is justified. Given recent events in Iran – a suicide bombing in the southeast province of Sistan-Baluchistan and at least two other incidents – the effort is apparently ongoing.
A suicide-bomber blast, which occurred inside a mosque in the city of Zahedan, killed at least 30 people: a rebel Sunni group with reported links to the U.S. claimed responsibility. The Iranian government immediately accused the U.S. and Israel of being behind the attack. The violence was very shortly followed up by attacks on banks, water-treatment facilities, and other key installations in and around Zahedan, including a strike against the local campaign headquarters of Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad. Add to this an attempted bombing of an Iranian airliner, which took off from the southwestern city of Ahvaz, and you have a small-scale insurgency arising on Iran’s eastern"
Next stop will be Iran if the right wing radicals have their way.

We can’t let either Israel or antisemitic extremists derail this. Unfortunitally Iran doesn’t seem to totally realize that Obama is the best hope for peace with them as well, and hawks are trying to bait them into realizing even less.

Lieberman: Israel has no plans to attack Iran

Israel’s foreign minister, Avigdor Lieberman, said on Wednesday his government has no plans to attack Iran.
“Israel is not planning to bomb Iran,” Lieberman told reporters in Moscow. The foreign minister is currently in Moscow for talks with Russian leaders.
The new Israeli government headed by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has placed the Iranian nuclear program at the top of his agenda.

Netanyahu views the prospect of Iran attaining a nuclear military capability as an existential threat to Israel, thus raising fears worldwide that Jerusalem will resort to military action to halt or delay the Islamic regime’s plans.
“We do not have a need” to carry out attacks on Iran, he said. “Israel is a strong country and we can defend ourselves.”
Lieberman added that Iran is the main factor behind instability in the Middle East, adding: “This is not an Israeli problem.”

Covert action was authorized by both parties. It was done after the National Intelligence Estimate said that Iran had stopped its nuclear weapons program by 2003. Both your parties, as usual, as complicit. They do not care what reality is, they want the control of Iran’s oil and will do anything to obtain it. The US has a long history of using the CIA to overthrow Iran’s government. Iran does not attack other countries and the US won’t stop doing it, overtly or covertly. Iran’s election is on the 12th. The actions now occurring are likely meant to push voters in the direction the US and Israel want them to go. AIPAC groomed Obama for years and then got him elected. Change? Not much of a positive nature when it comes to Israel. Obama’s good friend is the newest head of AIPAC. The American people are being set up to accept an attack on Iran. Bush refused to make public the last NIE. I would surmise from that once more a report cleared Iran of pursuing a nuclear weapons program.

An attack on a Shi’a mosque after all the attacks on Sunni houses of worship. The blast comes on a Thursday. On Friday, Iranian government agents arrest three men. On Saturday morning, the Iranians kill them, calling it an execution. How swift a form of justice.

A group takes responsibility for the bombing and says that only one of the three men murdered by the Iranian government was a member of the group.
And, of course, Leen you think that this is some US-induced plot. You don’t much think about the long, long campaign by the Iranian government to enforce religious conformity.
You don’t note the recent explosions in Sunni mosques, the suspicious fires, the suppression of other sects, or the arrests of people for “devil-worship” in the past couple of months.

Here’s another report quoting Iranian officials explaining how justice was served in executing these three men 36 hors after the explosion. Note that the explosion was said to be caused by suicide bombers and also note that the three men killed by the Iranian government weren’t said to be at the scene of the explosion.

U.S. website: Mossad killed Iranian nuclear physicist

A senior nuclear physicist involved in Iran’s nuclear program who died under mysterious circumstances two weeks ago was killed by the Mossad, according to a report released in a U.S. website this weekend.
The website – Stratfor.com – features intelligence and security analysis by former U.S. intelligence agents.
Professor Ardashir Hosseinpour, a world authority on electromagnetism, was until recently working on uranium enrichment at the facility in Isfahan, one of the central processing sites in Iran’s nuclear program.

The physicist died January 18, but news of his death only emerged six days later in two Iranian media outlets.
A report released this weekend in Stratfor.com stated that the Mossad was behind Hosseinpour’s death.
The report said the physicist died from “radioactive poisoning” as part of a Mossad effort to halt the Iranian nuclear program through “secret operations.”
The site indicates that in the late 1970s and early 1980s, the Mossad was involved in the deaths of scientists involved with the Iraqi nuclear program. At least three scientists were killed in those operations.
A website of expatriate Iranian communists said that several other scientists were killed or injured in the operation to kill Hosseinpour at Isfahan, and given treatment at nearby hospitals.
