cross-posted at skippy and a veritable cornucopia of other community blogs.
congrats to jane & the gang, because firedoglake is the 11th most influential blog in blogtopia and yes, we coined that phrase!
we’d also like to offer a laurel and hearty handshake to our other friends who placed highly:
political animal @ 10
crooks & liars @ 13,
balloon juice @ 25,
hullaballoo @ 32
talkleft @ 54,
the brad blog @ 75, &
the sideshow, coming in just under the wire @ 99!
we notice two things about the list of influential political blogs -
(1) 8 of the top 15 blogs are lefties, while only five are hardly-ever-right wing blogs (the remainder being corporate shills, ie, cnn, abc); and
(2) skippy is not on the list.
bastids!!!!

Good to see but to be really influential, FDL needs to be in the top 5; let’s get it there!
Really glad to see it’s ranked higher than DKos but disappointed Glenn GreenWald is so low. But really good to see Bradblog ranked in upper 100 (if one can’t examine the vote counting mechanisms, how does one know the votes are counted correctly?)
Seconded.
Michelle Malkin is number 5? Really?
The list does not come up. Who are the top 10?
SKIPPY!
The hardest working Blogger in Blogtopia should damn well be on that list!
LOL, It took me a while to find out what (Y!SCTP) was.
Many thanks to you for being the first big name to link to my pitiful little excuse for a Blog.
My bad.
For the uninitiated, (Y!SCTP)
is,
Yes! Skippy Coined The Phrase.
Yer welcome.
Thanks for this post. And about not being on the list, don’t be discouraged; there’s always next year. {{{Skippy}}}
“alongside well-known partisan bloggers — Michelle Malkin, FireDogLake –”
As if these had anything in common other than being blogs? FDL partisan like the slug mentioned first? Hmm, I never thought of FDL as partisan unless speaking out for truth and justice makes it partisan, but then no reasonable human would ever accuse MM of being interested in either truth or justice. ;-) Maybe I’m just too partisan to see clearly.
Didn’t come up for me either. Try this: http://blogs.abcnews.com/theno…..phere.html
pretty cool that FDL has overtaken DKos.
FDL will be climbing along with the Washington Note. Huffington Post has some serious blog clogs on particular issues. Along with Crooks and Liars. The only time C&L will post anything about the I/P conflict is when they have been challenged. After asking them and persistently challenging them why they had not printed anything about the Rosen Espionage trial..they finally did just hours after I hammered away in the process they banned me for challenging Rachel Maddow’s coverage of that issue. Rachel did one report and she made a lark out of the investigation.
Surprised Gleen Greenwald is down that far. Also where is Juan Cole? Did he make the top 100?
Crooks and Liars has a huge blog clog on this issue.
We will watch Firedoglake, Glenn Greenwald, Washington Note and Mondoweiss climb to the top of the charts

Leen, I was so startled to be continuously zapped for discussing any aspect of I/P at HuffPo! I think I was once on the Guardian, too. Ulp. Very dispiriting.
Thanks Skippy for this. It does give hope to consciousness raising. That saying about the 100 monkeys finally getting a message, and then it rapidly spreads, is a tipping point, for the rest of the monkey nation.
Glenn, FDL, information clearing house are my faves.
