Here’s the real problem that progressives have to face, we’ve been warned before of these problems and couldn’t stop them under other programs;

The republicans who hate government and want all government programs to fail will undermine the program.

there, that’s it and it is a fact, they undermine social security, pillaging the investments our grandfathers and parents made into, and now they have the nerve to claim it is insolvent

they did the same thing with public education, lobbying for vouchers so public education us underfunded, then allowing private schools to pick and choose who attends.

so this is what will happen with public health care;

we will fund the project and that funding will prove not only adequate, it will enjoy a surplus

the republicans will take that surplus to fund "tax reductions" that will go to the wealthy

the public project will the experience economic pressure, the republicans will say;

see?

we TOLD you it wouldn’t work

what ever happened to that "locked box" that was supposed to be funding social security?

and why haven’t we reclaimed the funds "borrowed" from the program since they were "supposed" to be positive return investments?

for a public plan to work we NEED safeguards against pillaging, we NEED safeguards against using surplus to fund other projects.

if we can’t get that done then this program is doomed to be robbed blind by the wealthy just as most public programs are robbed blind by the wealthy
