Back in October 2009 my friend and co-founder of ReLegalize Indiana started a Facebook Page to get things going for our effort to legalize medical cannabis and industrial hemp in Indiana. This was before I got involved in organizing the effort with Bill, and it was this Facebook page that prompted me to get involved in the first place.

This November a historic ballot initiative in California will establish for the first time in law the right to Cognitive Liberty in the form of a public question: Should cannabis be legalized for adult consumption, regulated and taxed like alcohol and sold to anyone over 21 years of age?

While prospective progressive senatorial candidate Tamyra D’Ippolito was gathering signatures for her petitions to appear on the ballot, Rahm Emanuel may have been working to backdoor alternate candidate Rep. Baron Hill into the Senate race.

Here’s my weekly roundup of music business news that caught my eye this week.

Its been a pretty active week for the music business, especially in the online space where several moves were made this week by the likes of Google, MySpace, Facebook and even YouTube is pairing up with U2 for a special event.
