In her latest foaming-mouth tome — Guilty: Liberal “Victims” and Their Assault on America, released on Jan. 6 — Coulter spends the better part of three pages defending a group called the Council of Conservative Citizens (CCC), which The New York Times had described as a “thinly veiled white supremacist organization.” Coulter begs to differ.

Interesting:

Today, Jared Bernstein, Chief Economist for Vice-President Joe Biden, held a conference call with progressive bloggers to discuss the economic stimulus package. During the call, he made an interesting argument about the intersection of the stimulus package with the financial stability program outlined by Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner yesterday.

When you have no new ideas, developing policy becomes difficult:

The Republican National Committee, under new chairman Michael Steele, has quietly killed an ambitious plan to create the Center for Republican Renewal, a big in-house RNC think tank intended to develop new policies and ideas in order to take the party in a new direction, a Republican official who was directly informed of the decision by RNC staff tells me.

Franken going on the offence:

This afternoon, Franken attorney David Lillehaug was questioning Washington County elections official Kevin Corbid, attempting to make a case that some precincts in his county lost ballots during the recount and gave Coleman a net “gain” of ten votes. Corbid’s theory has been that ballots were double-scanned by the machines on Election Night, but he admitted that ballot-loss is a possibility, and the evidence isn’t complete.

Well the GOP seems to think he is:

Wurzelbacher, who became a household name during the presidential election, will be focusing his talk on the proposed stimulus package. He’s apparently not a fan of the economic rescue package, according to members of the group.
