In what has to be one of the most stunning security breaches in years, an employee of a U.S. defense contractor (apparently inadvertently) leaked blueprints of the new Marine One to Iran.

In this week’s Newsweek, Michael Isikoff and the remarkably appropriately named Mark Hosenball are worried that the new chairs of Congressional committees are unlikely to hold the Obama Administration’s feet to the fire. Because, you know, Congress has done such a bang-up job of oversight during the Bush years. Or something.

After numerous government reports and press and on-line investigations too numerous to mention, it’s pretty clear the Bush Administration willfully, intentionally, and frequently broke U.S. and international law by torturing prisoners in its custody.

But now we’re being told by everyone from the President Elect of the United States to right wing talk show hosts that we should just forget about this serial violation of law and disdain for once-deeply held moral convictions. What’s going on here? Could it be that the religion of those tortured is what is setting the agenda?
