It’s been a full year since Israel unleashed ‘Operation Cast Lead’ against the people of Gaza, leaving 1,400 dead (mostly civilians), and the entire place in complete ruins. Israel’s contention all along has been that this annihilation of Gaza’s civilians and infrastructure was merely collateral damage.
And then Israel’s Dahiya Doctrine exposes its ugly head to Richard Goldstone …

In my debut entry, you can watch Jon Stewart bust Scott McClellan’s central myth: ‘Whatever it is, it isn’t willful deception. It’s the Beltway culture, not the otherwise good and decent people making the myths that create the Beltway culture!’ Now it has reminded me of the Bill Moyers Journal segment in which Matt Taibbi and Robert Kuttner reprise the roles of Stewart and McClellan.

Friday night Bill Moyers hosted a fascinating debate on the Senate’s health care bill between Matt Taibbi, contributing editor for Rolling Stone, and Robert Kuttner, co-editor of the American Prospect. (The video can be viewed here: Bill Moyers Journal). Taibbi and Kuttner both describe the just-passed health care bill as disastrous. They outline how it is a complete giveaway to the health insurance industry, how it will do nothing to lower costs, and how it will be extremely unpopular to the American public once it’s implemented…
