It’s been a full year since Israel unleashed ‘Operation Cast Lead’ against the people of Gaza, leaving 1,400 dead (mostly civilians), and the entire place in complete ruins. Israel’s contention all along has been that this annihilation of Gaza’s civilians and infrastructure was merely collateral damage.

In my debut entry, you can watch Jon Stewart bust Scott McClellan’s central myth: ‘Whatever it is, it isn’t willful deception. It’s the Beltway culture, not the otherwise good and decent people making the myths that create the Beltway culture!’ Now it has reminded me of the Bill Moyers Journal segment in which Matt Taibbi and Robert Kuttner reprise the roles of Stewart and McClellan.

Friday night Bill Moyers hosted a fascinating debate on the Senate’s health care bill between Matt Taibbi, contributing editor for Rolling Stone, and Robert Kuttner, co-editor of the American Prospect.
