Bob Woodward’s new book, Obama’s Wars, is full of the same insider tales of government gossip as his previous books. One reads Woodward to pick out the various gems strewn along the way, cognizant that even those are the products of spin manufactured by the various principals involved. A particularly interesting nugget concerns the way the intelligence agencies passed on information about their torture program to the incoming Obama administration. But did Mike Hayden really have to slap David Shedd in the face?

Melanie Sloan’s Curious And Epic Failure To Fight Corporate Corruption

CREW accuses eight Democrats in Congress of corruption. Most of these have opposed the Iraq war and five of the eight are African Americans. Is this just a coincidence? Melanie Sloan has links to the corporation SAIC. This powerful company produced false propaganda to justify war with Iraq and SAIC continues the propaganda and its war profiteering. CREW has mostly ignored corporate criminality such as toxic and deadly pollution, privatized “outsourced” assassinations, and voter fraud from crooked electronic voting machines. SAIC has a large investment in these fraudulent voting machines, and has probably stolen elections.
