McConnell & Boehner spent their Easter Break blowing Wall Street C-Street Style – behind closed doors, in secret, hoping the public never finds out. Obama Declares Single Payer Not the Silver Bullet that Will Save Health Care, But Mr. Prez, It’s the Closest Thing We’ve Got – $400 Billion/year Saved

By: Monday September 21, 2009 12:12 am

President Obama was on Meet the Press Sunday. He announced that “Single Payer is not the silver bullet that will save health care.” The fact that a Single Payer Medicare-for-All Plan would save $400 billion a year in unnecessary administrative health care costs sure makes it sound like the closest thing to a silver bullet we’ve got.

Unfortunately, it is not a POPULAR “silver bullet” to our staggeringly lobby-bribed representatives (including our President). This bullet would FULL STOP the outrageous profiteering of the medical industrial complex. If that silver bullet were used for reform, it would mean lobby-bribed corporate benefit arrangements would have to go unhonored. The Trojan Horse of reform, of a faux public option, would have to be dismantled. The citizens, their welfare and lives, would be honored instead with Single Payer Medicare-for-All. Could our supposed trusted government servants possibly do this? Can we as citizens rally enough political will to demand that they do this for us? For our children and their children?
