The word translated “faith” in the New Testament simply means,”trust.” Do we trust in unprovable speculation about metaphysical realities by those who know better, or do we trust in a grounded, earthly, integrated faith?

Reports reveal that private prison corporations with interests and operations in Arizona stand to benefit and profit greatly as a result of immigration laws like SB1070. And, that isn’t altogether surprising because these same reports are indicating these corporations played a role in influencing the law, which is proof that border politics and the private prison businesses are tied.

Despite millions of corporate dollars being spent by Michael Bennet, Andrew Romanoff has taken the lead in polls with the Primary on August 10th.
Pundits have written that Romanoff’s win will send a message throughout politics, that we the grassroots voters, can reverse the Corporate Stranglehold on Congress .

Congresssman Bobby Rush’s hearing on the Comcast-NBC merger in Chicago on July 8th shined a light on how Comcast-NBC hopes to get this through. They are hoping to demonstrate a concern for diversity and an interest in increasing minority ownership and leadership. Of course, why are they just now figuring out ways to make their corporations more diverse? Oh, yeah, this is one way to get the greenlight to merge.

When a US Representative is given the runaround for two hours and still can’t get anything settled, there’s no doubt left who is running the show. Historians will look back on this period in history as the time when the defining unit of power in the world shifted from nation-states to corporations.
