Washington Responds to Afghanistan Failures With More Petty Political Posturing

By: Tuesday September 21, 2010 6:00 am

With over three months left on the calendar, a helicopter crash today that killed nine NATO troops made 2010 the deadliest year for foreign troops in Afghanistan since the US-led invasion in 2001. The latest surge in violence in Afghanistan is viewed as an attempt by insurgents to disrupt the elections that took place over the weekend. Meanwhile, back in Washington, Senate debate on the annual National Defense Authorization Act consists solely in politicans polishing their credentials for the midterm elections by taking positions relative to the included DREAM Act and repeal of Don’t Ask Don’t Tell, rather than a debate on the merits of a war that has spiraled completely out of control.

Cannabis Reconsidered: A Paradigm Shift – from Escalating Punishment to Least Harm

By: Monday September 20, 2010 8:06 am

If we all stand together, we can turn around a horrific status-quo by putting cannabis in the realm of health, not law enforcement. Persuade our community leaders to stand up and speak for humanity and humane practices. For voters unsure of the result of legalization, let’s demand an immediate cease fire in the War on Drugs, to show that all hell will not break loose.

Lawsuit Against NH GOP May Follow Unlawful Arrest Threats at Joe Arpaio Rally

By: Sunday September 19, 2010 4:01 pm

In generaly, the GOP threatens arrest when you ask them about their stance, remember the RNC beat down in 2008,with 800+ arrests?

I am talking about moving for Injunctive relief with some well-respected local First Amendment Counsel as well. And the compelling thing is, I need immediate relief because the fall elections — in particular the U.S. Senate 2010 race — loom large. In contrast, the relief sought against the RNC is temporally stale by comparison, though no less significant of course.

The Nefarious Relationship Between Joe Arpaio & Senate Candidate Kelly Ayotte.

By: Thursday September 16, 2010 3:03 am

You can tell a nasty government official by the way they treat their opponents and the press. Ayotte made a failed Free-Speech Felony run at me when I was NAACP legal chair with her bigot buddy Meshugana Marty Dunn, who still lies about me to this very day. Meanwhile, Arpaio paid Nick Babcock $40G for repeated, trumped-up arrests. Read this July, 2010 Tuscon Citizen story “Is Arpaio an illegal?”

NYT-White House Afghanistan Story Needs Translation

By: Wednesday September 15, 2010 1:22 pm

Sometimes you need a Rosetta Stone to translate the New York Times when it tries to unravel the moral muddle of the Obama Administration’s Afghanistan policy. Today’s example shows the Times hopelessly mired in doublespeak from the very first paragraph.
