Corporatism and the Art of Political Code

By: Monday July 12, 2010 5:27 pm

Making both Corporate America and Average America happy has become a very important political skill. And talking to voters in language that appeals to their values while sending coded messages to their corporate masters has become a very refined art form.

Threatened Wildlife Resents Industry Sponsorship of Louisiana Senators, Pelosi Already Capitulating?

By: Wednesday May 5, 2010 9:21 am

Mary Landrieu and David Vitter, the two Senators from Louisiana, speak out in favor of continuing oil drilling as the Horizon oil slick threatens their state’s environment and livelihood. Lieberman backs them up from his perch in the Senate. Pelosi signals no resistance from the vaunted House Democratic majority.

DNC Hammers Republicans For Their Ethics Problems

By: Friday March 12, 2010 2:00 pm

It has been a tough couple of weeks for Democrats and ethics. Between Rep. Rangle having to step down as Chairman of his committee and the complete disintegration of Rep. Eric Massa’s personality in the face of his bizarre behavior becoming public it is easy to see why the traditional media has been starting up the chorus of “ethics will kill the Dems in 2010”.

It is pretty galling to see Republicans lining up to start pitching the idea that Democrats are corrupt and out of control when they have done nothing to clean up their own house, even after the defeats of 2006 and 2008.

All this makes today’s release of a new add by the DNC the sweeter. You can see it below:

For those that can’t play it at work, it talks about Sen. David Vitter’s dallying with prostitutes and highlights the fact that Sen. John Ensign is the subject of a FBI investigation for allegedly steering his mistresses husband lobbying business in violation of federal law, and of course trying to cover it up.

This commercial is going to be running in the D.C. area cable stations. This is clearly a shot across the bow of the Republican Party. It is, Mark Warner’s way of letting the Republicans know that Democrats feel like they have the better case in terms of corruption and what they do about and are willing to up the stakes in this fight any time.

The floor is yours.

Our Wonderful Traditional Mainstream Media In Action

By: Saturday March 6, 2010 1:17 pm

You’d think that enabling the ambitions of Ahmad Chalabi — who as we’ve known for years was working hand-in-glove with Iran — to create a war that destroyed one nation, killed untold hundreds of thousands if not millions, and has seriously damaged America’s financial and moral standing, would be a mite worse of a crime than catting around on one’s spouse, even if the adulterer is an evil Democrat as opposed to nice Republican Mark Sanford. But maybe that’s just me.

WaPo Uses Vitter to Stoke False “Clintons Conflict” Narrative

By: Thursday November 26, 2009 1:18 am

Reading the beginning of Mary Beth Sheridan’s article in the Washington Post Thanksgiving morning, one might think serious critics of Bill and Hillary Clinton have voiced serious questions about possible conflicts inherent in their roles as former President and Global Initiative Head versus Obama’s Secretary of State.

One would be wrong.

Action Alert: Support the Bar Ethics Grievance Filed Against Sen. Vitter

By: Saturday October 3, 2009 8:00 am
(Promoted by jasonrosenbaum - A promising development indeed.)

The Louisiana State Bar Association has finally received an ethics complaint regarding the allegations, some of which he admitted, that Sen. David Vitter engaged in multiple instances of adulterous and criminal conduct. Help this complaint get the attention it deserves by contacting the LADB, Office of Disciplinary Counsel and LSBA to respectfully demand that the Office of the Disciplinary Counsel fully comply with the Louisiana Rules for Lawyer Disciplinary Enforcement.

Melanie Sloan, Stop Bashing ACORN! And Stop Bashing My Anti-War Democrats!

By: Thursday October 1, 2009 9:04 am

Melanie Sloan, on the Rachel Maddow Show, condemned Democrats and ACORN. No evidence was produced for these charges. Is this racism or is this a False Flag Op carried out by the corporation SAIC? There is plenty of corruption in Washington DC that CREW ignores.

Update 03-30-09 Re Sen. Vitter’s Missing Law License

By: Monday March 30, 2009 12:17 pm

Although David B. Vitter received his juris doctorate from Tulane University Law School, was admitted to the Louisiana State Bar Association, practiced law in Louisiana and was an adjunct professor of law at Tulane, he is not listed in the Louisiana State Bar Association Membership Directory Active Member Search, Martindale.com or anywhere else as currently being licensed to practice law in Louisiana or any other state. It appears that Mr. Vitter is no longer admitted to practice law in Louisiana but I have been unable to confirm whether Mr. Vitter has ever been admitted to the LSBA and, if so, why he is no longer listed as an active member of the LSBA.
