Rankism is what people who take themselves for “somebodies” do to those they mistake for “nobodies.” Whether directed at an individual or a group, rankism aims to put targets in their place and keep them weak so they will do as they’re told and submit to being taken advantage of.

What Ghandi really fought against was a word that hadn’t yet been invented – Rankism.
Rankists, in Ghandi’s India, impoverished the masses while enjoying their riches and power. India became a powder keg of malcontent under the weight of unfairness and outright cruelty experienced by the majority of its citizens.
Isn’t this happening here and now in America? Is America becoming our social powder keg?
And, if so, how can we stem the tide of chaos? I believe Robert W. Fuller has the answers.
How can we become A MORE PERFECT UNION?
Who is Robert W. Fuller and what the heck is RANKISM you might ask?

Rankism is a general term for the behavior of putting one another down. For example, racism is a subspecies of rankism, as leukemia is a subspecies of cancer. Other subspecies of rankism include the malignacies of sexism, homophobia, ageism, ableism, and anti-Semitism. The umbrella concept — rankism — can be of use in identity politics and for clarifying incidents like the Gates Affair.
