The harvest act would deny any path for citizenship to farm workers. Instead, even if they work year-round they would have no claims to citizenship. This means that laborers from other countries will never be citizens with the benefits of citizens.

House Minority Leader Steny Hoyer took to FOX on Sunday to criticize Stephen Colbert’s appearance before a Congressional committee as ‘inappropriate’ two days after Speaker Nancy Pelosi used directly apposite language to describe Colbert’s testimony, calling it “appropriate…. I think it’s great.”

Please help. Farm worker families live in homes surrounding fields where the toxic pesticide methyl iodide is applied. A recent scientific study by a national panel said “Adequate control of human exposure would be difficult, if not impossible.” In addition the report raised serious questions about the scientific accuracy of the federal review that was done under the Bush Administration. Please help the UFW and other environmental and farm worker groups ask the EPA to rethink allowing this toxic chemical to be used in our fields.
