As campaigns and volunteers hone their final electoral messages, the best flier I’ve seen asks a simple question — “Will They Get What They’re Paying For?”

Cato Stonex: Tell NewsCorp Beck Needs to Generate $$ or he’s Out |
| By: spocko Tuesday October 12, 2010 6:38 pm |
The media may want to bury the news that 296 advertisers don’t want their commercials shown on the Glenn Beck show, and the NewCorp management may pretend it’s no big deal, but as we are told over and over, “maximizing shareholder value” is the most important thing in the world.
So what should a concerned investor in a company do when the corporate managers keep employing someone who has gone from an asset to a liability? What actions should they demand management take? And if management doesn’t act, how should they respond?
Below I ask these questions to the largest institutional investor of NewsCorp, probably the only people on the planet with enough clout to demand real answers.
What to do When Beck’s Followers Attack |

A man is arrested with guns on his way to shoot up the Tides Foundation. In an affidavit, an Oakland police investigator reported that during an interview at the hospital, Byron Williams “stated that his intention was to start a revolution by traveling to San Francisco and killing people of importance at the Tides Foundation and the ACLU.”
Williams talked to a reporter who confirms that Glenn Beck was his inspiration.
Beck won’t ever be accountable for incitement of violence. Is there anything we can do?

Andrew Sullivan’s Palin Warning – and His Challenge |
| By: EdwardTeller Monday April 26, 2010 4:39 pm |
Andrew Sullivan, who is perhaps the most dogged nationally prominent Palin critic, has issued a warning – “She has the smarts of all accomplished pathological liars and phonies. And this time, she will not even bother to go on any television outlets other than Fox News. She will be the first presidential nominee never to have had a press conference. She will give statements by Facebook.”
He may be right.

Monday Morning Food for Thought |

I’m having a wee bit of trouble taking seriously the bleatings of the corpulent king of greed and gluttony this morning as the videoclips of Roger Ailes’ on This Week make the rounds of the blogosphere and 24/7 cable…. teachers, who already have dipped into their own wallets for school supplies, these days are on the front lines of seeing to it kids have food in their backpacks to take home for the weekends.
