Dr. Jill Stein is running an insurgent Green campaign for Governor of Massachusetts against 3 business-as-usual political insiders. Her platform reads like a progressive Christmas list. Now she has the chance to break this race open and show that clean, green, people-powered politics can succeed. To do it, she needs to raise $27,000 in small contributions by Friday.

Earlier this afternoon, I received a phone call from a DNC fundraiser who used the BP Oil Disaster as a pitch to donate to the Democratic Party. When I answered the call from an Austin, TX based number, the woman on the other end promptly thanked me for my past support, and asked if I would like to renew my commitment to the DNC.

ActBlue sent out a campaign email congratulating itself for the role it played in getting healthcare reform passed, and playing the story as a liberal (Democratic) victory. Being a liberal, and being aware of the completele lack of liberalism in the healthcare bill; I took issue and responded.

You all met Joshua Segall a few months ago on a liveblog he did at FireDog. His opponent is Congressman Mike Rogers from Alabama. Rogers’ campaign manager in ’06 and his current Deputy C.O.S. in his Congressional office, Christopher Brinson was reprimanded for his role in Abu Ghraib, his underling is serving 10 years.
