Today, October 2nd, we celebrate the birthday of a great Indian and humanitarian, Mohandas K. Gandhi, whom we also call The Mahatma.

President Obama made a statement some time ago, that if he could have Dinner with anyone, it would be Gandhi, who also inspired Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

What an ominous declaration! These days, we educated, sophisticated, skeptical liberals would write the speaker off as a religious right nut case or as a delusional soul in need of proper medication.

“Until Liberals take the opening words of spiritual non violent warrior Gandhi to heart, we will deserve every lionish lashing meted out to us.”

Another day another DREAM.  Over the last few days, I have been working hard with Herta Llusho and her brother Lirjon to support their campaign to defer Herta’s deportation on August 19, 2009. If you haven’t read her story yet, I recommend that you do. Please, take the following actions in support of Herta and help her stay in the only country she knows as her home:
