Well, this is embarrassing for Team Obama: the resident right-wing bomb-thrower on The View, who campaigned alongside Sarah Palin in 2008, has said she supports something called “gay marriage” which I presume is what the rest of us call marriage equality. This puts her to the left of President Obama.

The National Organization for Marriage launched a bus tour earlier this summer to convince people that same-sex marriages are terrible. Problem is, around the world, courts and legislatures are finding the exact opposite.

Furthermore, he should have recused himself from the case because as a gay man he would have a conflict of interest in deciding a case on gay rights.

Reporting on the despicable Rush Limbaugh wedding, People magazine mischaracterized the wedding singer, Million-Dollar Elton John, as an “outspoken gay-marriage advocate.” Sir Elton, who’ll apparently sing in front of roomful of bigots anywhere if the price is right, is far from a proponent of marriage equality.

According to legend, taxes and government aren’t needed to build roads, schools, the military, social security, medicare, or whatever because Republican Santa’s elves make all that stuff while we sleep.

What does it mean a group is systematically denied the right to marry? Or the another group is denied the right to determine what happens to their bodies? At some level, even if only unconsciously, it means we think they aren’t adults.
