Vice Admiral Robert Harward, head of JTF-435, continues his process of “training” Afghan personnel to take command of Afghan prisons, in an attempt to deflect responsibility away from the author of US detention abuses, General Stanley McChrystal.

The command structure for US prisons and special operations in Afghanistan appears to be another shell game being played to hide responsibility for secret prisons and night raids there.

In the same week that Vice Admiral Harward claims that the US no longer has secret prisons in Afghanistan, the UN has published a report with extensive documentation that multiple secret prisons have been employed. Whether they still are in operation is hard to determine.
