Rep. Yarmuth Didn’t Get Hippie Punching Memo from White House |
| By: merlin1963 Thursday October 14, 2010 7:35 pm |
On Wednesday August 26th of this year, I attended a Metro Democratic Club meeting in Louisville, KY. Although the meeting was scheduled as a local candidates meet and greet, the featured speaker was Democratic Congressman John Yarmuth who represents Kentucky’s 3rd Congressional District. Even though the meeting was run by one of the most active Democratic clubs in Louisville, the meeting was open to the public. In other words, Yarmuth was there to present what the Democrats had accomplished in the latest session and to take questions from club members — but Rep. Yarmuth must not have gotten the White House memo to be upbeat about White House plans/achievements on the economy while you punch a hippie.

The list of bedrock American laws that Rand Paul is opposed to keeps growing longer. In addition to the Civil Rights Act and the Americans with Disabilities Act, Paul has made it clear that he doesn’t like the Clean Air Act either. Last weekend, Paul said that President Obama should leave Kentucky alone, especially when it comes to pollution. “You need to keep the EPA out of our affairs,” he called on the president.

| By: TheMediaConsortium Wednesday May 26, 2010 9:08 am |
by Lindsay Beyerstein, Media Consortium blogger
This week’s health care news was full of mind-bending paradoxes: Prostate health is girly, abstinence-only education works through failure, “principled” libertarian Rand Paul would protect all-white lunch counters but ban private abortion clinics, and more.
