I am weary to the bones of making statements protesting the brokers of intolerance in America. Their verbal AK 47’s are spraying out fear and falsehoods so quickly I become dizzy trying to decide which bullet to fend off…We have done enough talking. We have been on the defensive for too long. It is way past time to do something positively prophetic!

I don’t view God as a cosmic Wizard of Oz at the controls of the world dealing out sticks and carrots. But, I do see these scriptures as profound insights into the nature of humanity. We acknowledge the truth of passages like this from Jeremiah in our language of recovery. The addict has to “hit bottom” before he can muster the humility and fortitude to move toward the light. Even George W. Bush confessed that America is addicted to oil.
