Noam Chomsky, way back in 1959, busted B. F. Skinner’s myth of radical behaviorism as the one true path to predicting and controlling human behavior. In an interview published today by Guernica (h/t Alternet), Chomsky again busts a myth at the heart of what ails us today: that of the sacrosanct use of violence by the US to shape the world according to our self-worshiping will.

In her inimitable style, Laura Flanders takes on the central myth of the Washington Post‘s propaganda regarding Uganda, busting down to size their hubris and reminding this poet of Naomi Klein’s words from over two years ago. It’s all about the deliberate weaponization of myths and rhetoric to jack electorates to hell and stick us with the bill in every way. Even John Oliver is getting in on the act.
