Today’s elections have nothing to do with throwing out incumbents and everything to do with affirming the status quo. Not a single candidate who opposes the war in Afghanistan is expected to win. It will take a lot more than partisan primaries to end the war.

On April 7, 2010 the people of Kyrgyzstan, a far-away country straining under an increasingly oppressive president, liberated themselves. In a revolution recalling those of 1989, protests unexpectedly toppled the authoritarian government. The opposition quickly took control, promising free and fair elections.

The United States government promptly asked if the new administration would allow America to keep its air base in the country.

Be A Rebel, Be A Moderate Independent

With recent reports of new apathy among 20 year olds, the instinct to blame the youth has once again started.

As Progressives it’s time to remember that we are the Secular left. Understanding that it is our duty to stand with our brothers and sisters in Iran.

It’s become clear to me that there is no one in Washington representing the interests of the average citizen, in fact all evidence is to the contrary. There is a dark cloud of tyranny descending upon our nation and I for one would prefer that we do something about it before we all end up living out of doors.

Expect titanically intensified rebellion and entrenchment today with an unusual Sun, Moon, and Saturn conjunction in Virgo opposed by Uranus in Pisces with both sides of the opposition squared by Pluto in Capricorn.
