Substituting for the vacationing Ed Schultz on MSNBC today, Cenk Uygur delivered a pretty good narrative on the Democrats mistakes in bailing out Wall Street, but not Main Street. He let people know about the shift in wealth distribution over the past 3 decades, and he was very direct and forthright in telling us about the Democrats’ sell-outs to business over the past year and a half. Cenk’s directness and plain-spoken style is very effective in this kind of show, and he has been a very good fit to its format during Ed’s absence.

American Wind Turbines Sound Like Freedom |
| By: Leo W. Gerard Friday June 18, 2010 8:05 pm |
In America, wind turbines echo the almost melodic taunt of a schoolyard victor — Neh-neh-neh-neh-neh-neh: You can’t get me. That’s because American wind turbines are the manifestation of freedom from foreign oil. The more American wind turbines, the fewer barrels of oil America must import to meet its energy needs. And American-built wind turbines help propel the nation out of the worst economic crisis since the Great Depression by generating good-paying American jobs.
Obama Solution to Stop Outsourcing – Stop Counting Jobs Outsourced (No, Seriously!) |
| By: MikeElk Wednesday March 3, 2010 3:00 pm |
The numbers are outrageous, sickening even. How can anyone stand to look at them?
Since 2000, the U.S. has lost 5.5 million manufacturing jobs, with 2.1 million of those jobs being lost in the last two years alone. Since 2001, over 42,400 factories have closed in the U.S., and another 90,000 are considered at severe risk of closing. The last time so few were employed in manufacturing was in 1941, before World War II spending pulled that sector out of its Great Depression slump.
Numbers like these make me want to cry.
So President Obama has come up with a big and bold solution to deal with problem. He’s going to shut down the federal office that counts how many jobs are being shipped overseas.

COBRA premium subsidies, established under the Obama stimulus bill, are now expiring, increasing hardship for countless families at precisely the moment they can afford it least. Two bills, S. 2730 and HR 3930, would extend this lifeline. Will you call today to insist they pass?
