Late last evening, Tuesday August 3 2010, BP announced that the static kill procedure had tamed the blown-out MC-252 well at last. All that remains is a “permanent kill” to be performed by the 1st relief well in a few days.

Look for Static Kill Delay Again: New Leak Just Seen on Video Feed |

Look for an additional delay in the “injectivity test” and static kill operations. A new leak on the well apparatus is shown in video captured August 3 at 9 am Eastern. In addition, oil appears to be leaking from the Gulf floor near the well.
