The Louisiana legislature just passed, and Bobby Jindal just signed, a law permitting people to carry concealed firearms into churches, synogogues, mosques etc. That must mean there’s an epidemic of god-fearing folks being murdered in their pews, or rugs, or something.

Progressives want a lot done. Some things, like accountability for torture and violations of constitutional rights, and for criminal activity undermining the financial system, won’t cost much to accomplish. But other things, like full employment job programs, Medicare for All, reconstruction of the educational system, modernization of infrastructure, transformation of the energy foundations of the economy, environmental sustainability, halting climate change, the creation of new industries, will all require Government spending. And in each area, deficit terrorists and many well-meaning people who believe in prudence and not living beyond one’s means will meet progressive legislative proposals with the statement, “that’s all very well but . . . , followed by the question “How Are We Going To Pay For It?”

Only two things are tolerable right now from the disgrace that is the Minority House Whip and his anecdotal gunshot lies. Say you’re sorry or say goodbye to your position.

Allowing the 9/11 suspects to be tried through military commissions is unacceptable. The proper venue is still the federal courts.

All the hand-wringing over the President’s ‘failure’ to address the nation quickly enough after the attempted underwear bombing is probably foolish given the way Al Qaeda operate.

When will this ridiculous excuse for a leader be removed from office?
