Human Rights Campaign, after a one-man effort by San Francisco LGBT activist Michael Petrelis, has finally agreed to post its IRS Form 990 on its website, “by the end of this week.” The form was due to the IRS in mid-August, so the HRC’s secrecy and delay makes it look like they’ve something to hide. Could it be huge salary increases while accomplishing nothing but kicking the gay-rights can down the road and providing cover to the Democratic White House and Congress for their bumbling of LGBT issues?

Matt Bai claims that his version of the trouble with Social Security comes from a non-partisan organization. I don’t think Peter G. Peterson qualifies, and neither do groups he funds.

While listening last night to President Obama’s speech on the BP oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico, one section struck me as both especially sad and enraging. Obama was borrowing the language and ideas of Van Jones to describe the path out of our dependence on fossil fuels. This was enraging, because when Van Jones was attacked by Glenn Beck, Obama stood idly and allowed Jones to resign. It was even more enraging, and sad, because resorting to Jones’ plan in the speech demonstrates how correct Jones is in his prescription for a Green Collar Economy.

Well, it appears the sellout will now transcend generations. Wood? No way. Kagan? You betcha. I have few words right now. This just should not surprise me.

Conservation groups take huge donations from Big Coal, Big Oil and other corporations that make enormous profits while destroying the environment and the planet’s ecosystem. It’s time to expose this corrupt relationship and chart a new course to save the planet.
